After a short summit break we head down knowing it was a long hike back down. This snowfield was a nice break after slipping and sliding down some loose rocks and sand coming off the top of the saddle. At Red Lake we encountered around 6(?) backpackers. And later on the trail two more on the way up. Got back to the car at 5:00 pm, got dinner in Bishop, and got home around 2:00 am Sunday morning. The end of a 35 hour adventure.
